Patricia "Putt-Putt" Thin Elk, 61, of McAlester, Oklahoma died on Friday, January 3, 2020 at her home. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at Chaney Harkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the First Assembly of God Church in McAlester with Pastor Jerry Burnside officiating. The burial will follow at the Carney Cemetery, Chambers Community, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Michael Thin Elk, Steve Kiehl, Bryan Kiehl, Rick Lewis, Jim Brown and Phillip Reed. Patricia was born on July 1, 1958 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Freeman Reed and Alice (Lewis) Reed. Patricia graduated from McAlester High School with the Class of 1976. She attended Bacone College and later received her CNA certification from Kiamichi Tech. Patricia worked as a CNA at local nursing homes and in Oklahoma City. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in McAlester. She is survived by her sons: Tyler Marquiez and Michael Thin Elk both of McAlester; her special baby, Hercules the dog; brothers and sisters: Mike Reed of McAlester, Cathy Johnson of McAlester, Sharon Franks of TX, Becky Keel of TX Freeman Reed of Tulsa, Phillip Reed of Kiowa, Tammy Blaze of TX and Karen Johnston of Kiowa; special nieces and nephews: Christie Kiehl and Steve of Block, Brent Reed of McAlester and Shawn Painter of McAlester; special great nieces and nephews: Erin Reed, Bryan Kiehl, Skylar Reed and Kiley Reed along with other nieces, nephews and family and friends. Patricia is preceded in death by her mother, Alice (Lewis) Shatley; her father: Freeman Reed; maternal grandmother: Louise Smith; paternal grandmother: Agnes Johnson; and two sisters: Jan Painter and Bobbie Wallace.
